How it works

A spare phone in the room does the watching.

Families keep phones. Camily just gives an old one a quiet new job.

  1. 01

    Room phone

A spare phone on the wall looks at the room. Cheap or already owned.

  2. 02

    Live portal tiles

Each room becomes a tile a carer or parent can see in a quick scan.

  3. 03

    Guardian app

Family members follow the rooms that matter, from anywhere.

  4. 04

    Walk it to test

"I'm checking on you." Lie down on the floor to test it live, together.

  5. 05

    Only then, alerts

Push to the right people — parents, siblings, care team — in under 30 seconds.

Privacy first · Not a medical device

How often does it take pictures?

Never. The first promise: no video leaves the room.

  • Analysis happens on the room phone, in memory only.
  • Frames are discarded immediately after pose analysis.
  • No routine image upload. "Take a photo" doesn't exist.
  • No gallery, no replay, nothing to leak.
  • What reaches the cloud is a text event: "possible fall in Irene's room".

Strict mode is the default. The privacy panel inside the app says it plainly: No routine image was uploaded.

How does it know a burpee isn't a fall?

Exercisers look different.

Floor exercise shares one thing with a fall — ending up on the floor. The difference is everything around it.

  • Exercisers get back up. A downed person stays still.
  • Push-ups are rhythmic. A fall is not.
  • Context matters: time of day, prior activity, duration down.

A burpee ends. A fall doesn't.

Still learning — a long floor stretch after yoga can look borderline, so the app always says "possible fall" and lets a human decide.

What it will miss

Honest limits.

Camily doesn't promise to catch everything. It promises to be honest about what it can and can't see — and it says "I'm not watching" instead of pretending.

Slow slump

Sliding slowly down a wall or off a chair may not trigger the sharp-drop signature.

Phone off or flat

If the room phone dies, monitoring stops. The portal shows the tile as unobservable.

Dark or occluded

Pose tracking needs light. A dark room reports unobservable, never a fake "all clear".

Behind furniture

A fall fully hidden behind a bed or sofa can't be confirmed.

The HELP button

Because it can miss things, the room app has a big HELP button the person can always press.

Inside the app

Real screens. Not mockups.

These are live captures from the Camily prototype — a working build on a real phone, against a real API.
